Date: Friday, 7 January 2022 14:42 (UTC)For running and walking, I have two fitness watches, which link to Strava and other sites; that tracks distances, elevation, etc. I tag races as races, so I can count them.
One smartwatch tracks steps, since I wear it all the time.
I use an app called Acar for tracking all expenses on my car - fuel, services, insurance, etc. - and with that, I can see my mileage, fuel consumption, cost per km or per day, etc. etc.
For books, I read almost all books on my Kindle, and that's linked to Goodreads, which gives me an annual or monthly summary.
Parkruns are traced on the Parkrun website.
D&D sessions I just count on my session journal entries (I number them).
And I can look at my shelf and count the model aircraft. :)

haha, yeah, I get obsessive too. I've created what is now (as been larger and smaller over the years) a nine-tab Google sheet to track health and fitness stuff. I also have several apps synced up, either directly or via things like IFTTT or Zapier.
and I'm tweaking some Notion templates for car data logging. right now I have it all in an outdated Google sheet.
which two smartwatches do you have?

Date: Monday, 10 January 2022 12:57 (UTC)I've also found various ways of syncing things up (there are some dedicated sites for fitness apps). For running and walking, Runalyze is amazing. Get data into that, and it can do all sorts of things.
For cars, Acar is cool, and it is accessible on the Fuelly website. Another car app is Fuelio, which is free, I think, and very similar.
The smartwatches I have are a Suunto Spartan Sport WHR, a dedicated fitness watch, and a Huawei Watch GT2e. The Huawei is not as good at sport as the Suunto (GPS not as accurate, not as customisable), but it does do a whole ton of different things. My next watch will be a Garmin, I suspect.

Date: Friday, 7 January 2022 14:36 (UTC)I was managing 12500 steps per day on average during December; I was even managing over 10000 on my sprained ankle, I have no idea how. Ouch. Ankle is doing much better though; not quite right for running, but fine for long walks.

Date: Tuesday, 11 January 2022 18:53 (UTC)a fitness-specific sycning app I like is FitToFit, though I think it's for Fitbit devices only.
oooh, I just dl'd Acar and will check it out shortly. I also have a car maintenance Notion template that I'll be comparing against too. (my Google sheet one is so limited.)
I really should look into other trackers than Fitbit. but I have data with them going back to Jul 2012 when I got my first one (before fitness watches were a thing and they were all still clip-ons, lol). so there's some product loyalty involved. but I really do need to do some research, as Fitbit's quality has fizzled out, relying more on their name and our user loyalty than product quality or features.
