Interesting. I always felt Dr Crippen was not the horrific murderer he was painted out to be. Still, all this does is prove that the corpse wasn't his wife, so even if he killed her, he didn't leave her corpse in the house.

Yep, then for that he should be acquitted. Whether he was still a murderer or not is another question entirely

I was always of the opinion that Cora lit out and blackmailed Crippen with evidence that he had been performing abortions.

That's quite an interesting theory. Cora was certainly very demanding and flamboyant, well, from what I remember reading about the case years ago.

Remember his comment when captured that he was glad that it was all over. Whether this meant that he had been stopped from "running" or that he would have to pay for Cora's death, who can say. I wonder if his then girlfriend didn't have more to do with it than she admitted. She was aquitted of any wrongdoing but there may just have been too little evidence to convict her. She may have done the killing.

Could the body have been one of Cora's lovers?
